There are several ways to learn more about Stata and the Stata programming
language.
Stata NetCourses
Stata offers courses over the Internet (NetCourses) ranging from an
introduction to Stata to advanced programming in Stata.
Click here to learn more about Stata’s
NetCourses.
Books on Stata
In addition to the Stata manuals, several books have been written about
Stata. There are also books that use Stata to illustrate the statistical
concepts they are presenting. Click here to visit
the Stata Bookstore. You can follow the
Books on Stata link for the subset
of books from the Stata Bookstore.
The Stata Journal
The Stata Journal is a quarterly journal containing articles about
statistics, data analysis, teaching methods, and effective use of
Stata’s language. The journal publishes reviewed papers together with
shorter notes and comments, regular columns, book reviews, and other
material of interest to researchers applying statistics in a variety of
disciplines. See
www.stata-journal.com for
additional information.
The predecessor to the Stata Journal is the Stata Technical
Bulletin (STB). Even though the STB is no longer published, past issues
contain articles and programs that may interest you.
Click here for more information on the STB. You
may also wish to visit the Stata
Technical Bulletin FAQ.
Statalist
Statalist is an independently operated listserver where Stata users actively
exchange information about using and programming Stata.
Click here to learn more about Statalist. You may
also wish to visit the Statalist FAQ.
Stata Users Group meetings
There are a few users group meetings held each year. The meetings provide
an opportunity for Stata users to interact and attend talks where new Stata
programs or ideas are presented. Meetings are announced on the
Users Group meetings Upcoming meetings
page. For information on past user group meetings, visit the
Proceedings page.
Short courses from experienced Stata users
Occasionally there are short courses offered by experienced Stata users on a
particular statistical topic where Stata is used extensively in the course.
Course announcements are made on the
Short courses
page.
