Event History and Survival Analysis Using Stata

Course description

On July 28-August 1 in Philadelphia, Dr. Paul D. Allison will teach a 5-day seminar on Event History and Survival Analysis Using Stata.

This seminar covers material equivalent to a full semester’s work. Topics include censoring, Kaplan-Meier estimation, parametric regression models, Cox regression, time-dependent covariates, competing risks, discrete-time analysis, heterogeneity, stratification, and repeated events. No previous knowledge of survival analysis is required, although participants should have a good working knowledge of basic principles of statistical inference and linear regression.

Stata will be used for all examples and assignments. Stata commands include ltable, stset, sts list, sts graph, sts test, streg, stcox, stcurve, and cloglog. Computers will be on site for hands-on assignments and practice.

The course will be held at Temple University Center City, which is located just across from the Philadelphia City Hall. The fee of $1,300 includes all course materials. A block of rooms has been reserved at a reduced rate at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, a 5-minute walk from the course location.
