SS-3: Staff Statistician 3

StataCorp is seeking a person with statistical knowledge to join its technical services staff in College Station, Texas.

Job duties include

• answering routine statistical questions from users via email
• answering data management questions from users via email
• monitoring and contributing to the Stata listserver
• creating technical support materials such as FAQs
• testing new methods and features in Stata

The candidate must have

• a master’s degree or equivalent knowledge in statistics, biostatistics, econometrics, or another science-related field
• experience using a statistical package
• strong English-language communication skills, both written and verbal

The preferred candidate will have

• a strong mathematical background
• experience programming a statistical package
• experience in a scientific programming language, such as C, or a scripting language, such as Perl
• proficiency in a language other than English
