PS-1: Software Developer

StataCorp is seeking an experienced C/C++ developer to work on our flagship product, Stata. Stata is used by thousands of researchers of all disciplines and has complete statistical, graphical, and data-management capabilities. This is a senior-level position on our development staff.

This is an opportunity to develop end-user applications for use under Windows, Unix (including Linux), and Mac. For more than twenty years, StataCorp has been one of the leading statistical software producers in the world.

Required skilles:

• bachelor’s degree in computer science or another related field
• 3+ years experience programming in C/C++

Desired skilles.

• development of portable code for use in a multiplatform code base
• Programming on Linux using GTK
• Programming on MacOS using Cocoa
• Programming on Windows using MFC
• 3D graphics development
• Low level network programming (Threads, Sockets, etc.)
• Knowledge of numeric algorithms
• Working in a Unix environment
• Writing technical documentation
